11th Annual Lilac Festival and Street Fair

The second weekend of May, the streets of Downtown Defiance are filled with activities. On this weekend, we celebrate the official flower of Defiance with the communities largest Arts and Craft Fair. Join both young and old for a day of entertainment that features free lilacs to the first 500 attendees, a 5K race, the Power of Purple parade, live music, arts and craft vendors, unique food vendors and children’s activities at “Camp Bulldog” as well as Ponies! Soles 4 Souls will be taking donations in a semi trailer provided by Keller Trucking. The Andrew L. Tuttle Memorial Museum will be open for viewing from 10 am – 4 pm. The event is free and located on Clinton Street. 10 photos will be displayed to vote on for a community photo contest.
As you enter the area, you will notice we will be creating a piece of street art for the community to participate in! “Give Us a Hand” during this project, and do not forget to stop down and see Linda’s Glass Gallery to be a part of the commemorative 2016 Lilac Festival Stained Glass Art Piece.

Cottonwood Jam String Band – 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
