The DDVB sponsors five community events each year. See the Calendar for specific dates and times.



April 6, 2017 — Stroll downtown Defiance and enjoy some chocolate (and wine if you so choose) along the way!
Tickets NOW available at the DDVB Office (325 Clinton Street)
Limit 300 tickets! Get yours early!

There are 2 tickets this year and they are as follows:
Regular Ticket: $5 donation; ticket includes chocolate stops only
Enhanced Ticket: $15 donation; ticket includes chocolate stops and 5 additional wine stops
Proceeds from this event benefit the downtown Defiance Beautification Project; specifically the hanging flower baskets.

Enhanced Ticket – This year’s featured winery will be Leisure Time Winery of Napoleon.

LilacsMay 13, 2017 — The streets of Downtown Defiance are filled with activities. On this weekend, we celebrate the official flower of Defiance with the communities largest Arts and Craft Fair. Join both young and old for a day of entertainment that features free lilacs to the first 500 attendees, a 5K race, the Power of Purple parade, live music, arts and craft vendors, unique food vendors and children’s activities. The Andrew L. Tuttle Memorial Museum will be open for viewing from 10 am – 4 pm. The event is free and located on Clinton Street.

Additional fun and entertainment will be available on 4th Street as Motorcycle Awareness Day will be celebrated.

1:00 pm – 3:00 pm: The Voices of Ohio
Voices of Ohio will be performing from 1 pm – 3 pm!! This group is a dynamic, exciting, professional adult vocal show group that performs a wide variety of contemporary and traditional music. Their repertoire includes music that celebrates the American heritage and spirit with a variety of pop, rock, country, show tunes, songs of faith and patriotic music.

During the past four decades, members of THE VOICES OF OHIO have entertained millions of people. They have delighted audiences throughout the world, be it the Grand Concert Halls of Europe, the White House Rose Garden, “The Great White Way” in New York City, or in the prestigious “Tournament of Roses Parade” and the Voices of Ohio have performed on nine “Kenny Rogers Christmas and Hits Tours“!!!

fireworks2July 3, 2017 — Join us at Diehl Park! Enjoy a day full of carnival rides, musical entertainment, and delicious food before the fireworks begin at dusk.  If you are interested in being a food vendor, please contact the DDVB office at 419-782-0739 or CLICK HERE for vendor application. Please be aware there will be no water or electric hook up.

June 23-25, 2017 — New for 2017!! An extension of the Riverfront Gathering from 2016! Join us as we celebrate our rivers all weekend long with great river events along the confluence! A few amenities will be FREE pontoon rides, canoes and kayaks to explore the rivers, children’s Aqua Zone activities, 9 bands featuring all types of music on 2 different stages and ending with Art-In-The-Park on Sunday at the Fort Grounds from 10:30 am -4 pm!
This event will begin on Friday June 23rd from 5 pm – 9 pm at Pontiac Park with food, music, river events and the celebration of Defiance becoming the next “Buckeye Trail Town”! The event will continue on Saturday from 12 pm – 10 pm at Pontiac Park  with children’s Aqua Zone activities and everything from Friday evening plus more and at Kingsbury Park from 12 pm – 6 pm with Bluegrass music! On Sunday, there will be a featured “Gospel Sing” from 9 am – 10:30 am featuring The Tacketts!

ribfest14_03September 30, 2017 — the streets of Downtown Defiance are filled with food, music and fun for our annual Fall Festival. Musical entertainment will begin at 4 pm and continue until 11 pm.

4:00 pm – 6:30 pm —  Enjoy musical talent from none other than Pete Schlegel.
We are so excited to have Pete join us as he rocks the stage!! Raised in Paulding, Ohio, he has always had a true passion for country music. His 6th album just became available of original country that he has either written or co-written!! Pete has worked with Nashville producers since 2002!!!

7:00 pm – 11:00 pm —  HEADLINING BAND

Our Headlining Band will feature “Brother Believe Me”!
Ohio local band members have come together to provide “memorable crowd interaction”, “Great vocals”, and FUN!!!  Offering a diverse songlist from newer artists like Bruno Mars, Imagine Dragons, and Maroon 5, all the way to Poison, Michael Jackson, Shinedown, and too many others to list!! You do not want to miss out on your chance to party-rock, BBM-style!
